West Devon Barn Conversion
Peninsula got asked to take on these barns in 2019, working with clients from previous projects, which made the job run smoothly and efficiently.
With groundworks completed and scaffolding up, Peninsula got to work by taking down the old rotten roof timbers. Walls built up ready to fix the wall plate in place. Once wall plate was in place, the job of hand cutting the entire roof started, with TLC insulated roofing felt and batten to follow.
Over 11,000 slates were needed for the roof which also had 8 Velux windows installed, 3 of which were remote controlled to open and operate the blinds.
Once weather tight, the large amount of framing started ready for the self-levelling floor screed to be poured. Ceilings and walls were Celotexed, battened and vapour barriered, ready to plasterboard and plaster.
When the plaster was dry the painting started and second fix carpentry. All finishing woodwork was oak, with 3 kitchens, 2 unites fitted and 2 oak staircases designed and fitted with glass balustrade.
With a high spec finish throughout this was a stunning project for Peninsula to be part of, and look forward to future similar projects.
